Experienced Field Technician/BTS Engineer
employment type: full-time
Responsibilities:
• Integrate new hardware/software and help tower crews with any associated issues
• Call test and complete documentation/reports for client
• Troubleshoot cell systems as a Tiger Team-VSWRs, fiber issues, hardware failures etc.
• Assist tower crews with microwave system installs/path alignments
• Must be able to professionally interface with tower owners and customers we support
• Read construction drawings, RFDS, port matrix maps and SCF files.
• Participate in ongoing vendor and in house training
• Assist management with projects and in house training of other employees as needed
• Must be willing to travel throughout Texas
• Climbing not required but a plus

Speakeasy Telecom is an established Telecom Construction Company in Driftwood, Texas offering immediate employment as a technician. Position is eligible for medical benefits after 90 days and 401K after 12 months. Must live in the Austin/San Antonio surrounding area to allow reporting to company facilities located in South Austin area. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, and pass a 7 year background check/drug test. Must be willing to work 40+ hours per week, up to 6-7 days per week at times and occasionally during holidays as customer driven.
Tower Technician
Speakeasy Telecom currently has several positions available in Driftwood Texas serving South and Central Texas for qualified Tower Technicians. Tower Technician’s work under the supervision of a Tower Crew Leader, assist with the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of antenna systems, communication towers and support structures. Technicians routinely work irregular hours in the performance of the job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Climbs and works on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment; performs tower maintenance
- Must have the physical ability and the willingness to work above ground at excessive heights on towers, rooftops, and equipment such as bucket trucks and/or man lifts
- Effectively utilizes available resources, technology, and tools to complete work
- Complies with all company policies and procedures as well as additional legal regulatory requirements
- Installs tower foundations and erects towers using construction and rigging equipment
- May fabricate metal support brackets and support structures using welding equipment
- Maintains clean, safe and orderly environment, and adheres to all Company and industry (OSHA) standards/regulations
- Efficiently prioritizes and performs job requirements and activities based on open communication with the lead or manager
- Develops and maintains of a positive company image, as follows:
– Providing superior customer service ensuring all essential job functions are performed in a timely, efficient, accurate, and safe manner
– Maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
Qualifications

Education & Experience
- 2+ years experience as a Tower Hand
- 1+ year(s) general construction, electrical, technical, or mechanical experience preferred

Crew Foreman & Top Hand

**We are looking for experienced Crew Foreman and Top Hand, minimum 5 years experience required as a foreman or top hand**
**Work in Austin, San Antonio, and surrounding areas**
**Must live in or be willing to relocate to Austin area**
**Our Clients include companies such as T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon etc.**
**Telecom experience is mandatory**
Responsibilities:
*Must be able to read and correctly interpret construction drawings.
*Affectively manage crew assignments based on understanding of CD’s.
*Complete the close out packages and submit to the operations manager in a timely manner.
*Must be able to lead and motivate a team and be a valued member of the team and the company.
*Participate in ongoing training and certifications for telecom related work.
*Compliance with JSA forms, assisting with overall crew work and heavy equipment and fleet vehicle maintenance.
*Microwave system installs, including path alignments.
*Install coax, fiberoptic cable, COVP boxes, hybrid cable, connectors, and tower supports.
*Installation of site grounding, site excavation, concrete pad and footing, pvc, rigid conduit, and cable terminations.
*Installation of tower top equipment and site sectorization, including rigging, hoisting, fastening, load-hopping, etc..
*Tower foundation installation
*Tower foundation and structure installation, including monopoles, self supports, and guy towers.
*Installation of tower bracing, masts, cable supports, RRU’s, antennas, and other tower top equipment.
*Must be willing to travel throughout Texas.
*Ability to safely climb heights in excess of 500 feet.
Qualifications:
*Tower Climber Certification (ComTrain)
*Supplemental Fall Protection & Advanced Rescue Training
*Forklift or Skytrack Training
*HazCom Training
*Rigger’s Training
*OSHA 10 hour or OSHA 30 hour Certification
*Anritsu Certification for Cable and Connector Systems
*PIM Test Certification
*CPR/First Aid Certification
*Ability to operate basic construction equipment.
*Welding Certifications
*Construction experience required
*Live in Austin Texas or the immediate surrounding area
